August 29. 2016

August 29, 2016

What a fantastic start to the new 2016-2017 4th grade school year! The students are already starting to form new friendships as well as keeping the old . We have several students in our class who are new to the Lincoln Street School Community and they were warmly welcomed by their fellow classmates. I look forward to a wonderful and enriching  year and hope the students do as well.

Homework:

While the students DO NOT have homework tonight, the parents/guardians do. Many forms were sent home today which need to be filled out and returned to school A.S.A.P ( preferably by the end of this school week. I had the students organize the forms into two groups: Stays at Home  and Comes Back.  Please look for these from in your child's binder. The student binder and inserted folders should come back each day . There are many folders inside for organization. They are all labeled according to subject.

Students who completed the Summer work packets should return them as soon as possible so that
they can receive acknowledgement for their great efforts.

Tomorrow is Library day. If your child brought home books to read over the summer, they can return them tomorrow.

As stated in my summer letter, all students are encouraged to have water bottles that can be refilled
and to bring healthy  snacks to school. We do not have lunch until 12:15 and that is an awfully long time for growing students to go without eating. We are a peanut/tree nut free room so please be mindful of this when packing snacks and read the labels of packaged foods carefully.

Stay cool!
