Science: Information packets were sent home regarding the Volcano Projects that students will be working on for the next 6 weeks . Parent signatures indicating knowledge of the project . Also, bring back a first and second choice of volcanoes that you would like to study. Only 2 people per class will be able to do the same volcano. It is a good idea to do a little research before making your decision as some volcanoes are not that interesting to study or they can be hard to find information on. The class will be creating Power Point Presentations here in class with Ms. Tabet on Thursdays, starting 12/10.
Reminder: Students are expected to dress appropriately for outdoor whether. It is expected that all students will go outside for recesses most days.

If you did not sign up for a lunch to be prepared by the cafeteria, remember to bring a nut free, bagged lunch and disposable drink bottle or carton. No electronics or phones are allowed by students. Math: Solving multi-step word problems. All of your answers should be recorded on the front worksheet. All of your work must be completed on the blank paper that has been provided for you. You must show work for both your estimation, and your actual answers. Both sheets of paper must be passed in for correction.

Spelling: Lesson 2, pages 14-19 , is due on Friday. You must complete the challenge on separate lined paper. Make sure that you have reviewed the entire lesson. If you have any questions about any of the directions, you must bring them tomorrow so that you can complete your homework by Friday.
Social Studies: Page 15 Chapter check-up. Your answers must be written in your Social Studies notebook. Please Follow these directions that were glued into your notebook: Numbers 1-6 must have complete sentences. Number 7 must be a paragraph with a topic sentence, 2-3 detail sentences and a conclusion.

Math: Rounding to the nearest thousands worksheet. Show the strategy that you use. This can be a number line or underlining the digit in the thousands and circling the digit in the hundreds to determine if the thousands stays the same or rounds up to the next thousand. Hint: if the digit in the hundred is 5 or greater , the thousands will round up.

Reminder: Due to the extremely hot weather, all students should come to school with a refillable water bottle that can be kept at their desk. Also, we have had the air conditioner running but it does tend to be cooler in the front of the room. If your child has mentioned being too cool, please have them bring a light weight sweater or jacket to wear in class.
